The original cowboy jeans, since 1947
If youโre going to wear cowboy jeans, you might as well go with the brand that have been making โem since Tex Williams was top of the pops. The 13MWZ is Wrangler's original cowboy cut โ designed in 1947 by โRodeo Benโ Lichtenstein for professional rodeo riders who needed jeans that could take a battering and still look good at the dance afterwards. The cut is mid-rise and regular through the waist, thigh and knee, with a slight boot opening so the cuffs will pull down easily over a pair of cowboy boots. No stretch, no fuss โ just 12 2/3 oz broken twill in 100% African cotton that'll soften and fade on its own terms. Usually seen in a classic stonewash, this new version comes in a darker workwear fade that looks like it's already done a few honest shifts.

Western cuts, cowboy fades and robust denims โ thereโs only one brand of jeans that the pro-rodeo riders swear by, and thatโs Wrangler.
Wranglers have been in the game since 1947, when the Blue Bell Overall Co. in Greensbro, North Carolina, hired a Polish tailor known as โRodeo Benโ. His job was to design a pair tough enough for professional cowboys โ built with felled seams, reinforced pockets and heavyweight denim for rough outdoor lives and long days in the saddle.
That original spirit hasn't changed much. Whatโs changed is who's wearing them. These days youโre as likely to find Wranglers on a van-lifer driving the North Sea Coast as on a ranch hand in Wyoming โ but the appeal is the same: jeans that are built to work hard, look good broken in, and go the distance.
This is denim for life in the open-air. Relaxed fits that move with you. Durable fabrics that soften over time without falling to bits (and look even better when they eventually do). Cuts that work with Converse, cowboy boots and everything in-between. Get them dirty, put them through their paces and wear them for weeks on end. Itโs what they were built for.
